Track Biography:

The point-to-point course is located at Loughanmore, Dunadry near Templepatrick.

Our landowner, Wilson Dennison has owned and produced a number of top-class national hunt horses including graded winners Yorkhill, Shaneshill, and Bellshill.

Our point-to-point is proud to have launched the career of many talented young horses who have gone on to make six figure sums at the horse-in-training sales in both Ireland and the UK.  Some of the leading names include the Cheltenham festival winner Ted Veale and the Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Truckers Tavern.

Its reputation as one of the premier tracks in the country, ensures that is has a particularly strong recent roll of honour, with the four-year-old maiden that is run at their Easter fixture really standing up to the test of time.

One of the real attractions of point-to-point racing is the opportunity to get up close and personal with future stars of Irish horse racing in a relaxed and family friendly environment.

Combined with extensive free parking we have a number of natural and man-made banks to help with viewing. As the parking is in the centre of the course you are never too far from the action. This also provides an ideal spot to enjoy a picnic while you enjoy the racing with a brilliant view of the whole track.

Disabled parking and toilets are provided at the track which allows all race goers to enjoy their days racing.

In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies. They supply a variety of tasty hot foods such as burgers, sausages and chips.

If you would like to satisfy your sweet tooth we have a doughnut stall and an extensive sweet and chocolate stand that sells a selection of delicious goodies. There is also an ice cream van in attendance on the day.

Alternatively, why not come along early and enjoy a picnic before the action gets under way or take a break midway through the day to refuel from the boot of your car.

Our extensive car park is the perfect location to relish the atmosphere of the races whilst entertaining friends and family.

Race goers can purchase teas and coffees from our special coffee cart that sells a variety of popular coffee options.

Soft drinks and juices can be purchased from our outside catering outlet.

If you would like something a little stronger to keep you warm during your days racing, alcohol can be purchased in our on-course bar.

No, we do not have an official dress code we just advise our race goers to stay warm and dry for your days racing and to prepare yourself for all types of Irish weather.
Dogs are very welcome, but need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Yes, we welcome visitors to bring their own picnics or refreshments. We also have a range of catering options on course if you don?t fancy packing a picnic for the day.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
No we do not provide an ATM so we recommend that you make a stop in Templepatrick on your way to the races.

Loughanmore point-to-point is the perfect day out for the family in Northern Ireland countryside and as an added bonus for parents all children U16 have free admission.

As our spring fixture is held over the Easter holidays, our point-to-point offers the perfect location for a weekend away with the family. We are located less than half an hour drive from Belfast city and Belfast port which makes it extremely accessible for visitors to combine a city break with a day out in the countryside.

The award winning Hilton hotel is situated only five minutes from the track and along with a superb golf course it also has a luxurious spa to experience.

Stuart Crawford has his string in great form at present, and SMITHYTOWN made a promising start to his career when coming home well to take third at Kirkistown. That run will certainly stand to him here against a field largely made up of newcomers. He would look to set the standard. Mon Missel was no match for Newgrove at Tyrella on his debut, but he should be capable of getting involved in this, whilst Incredible Odds met some trouble in running at Lingstown.

DEDUDEFROMHOUSTON failed in her hat-trick bid when just coming up short in the GAIN Mares Final at Ballynoe last month. A repeat of that effort, however, could see her as a tough nut to crack. Sworn Duty has done little wrong this season, winning twice, including at Durrow last time. She hails from an in-form stable, but does have a preference for testing ground conditions, whilst Silent Temptation is likely the pick of the last-time-out maiden winners in this.

The record-breaking WINGED LEADER bids to win this particular contest for a second year in a row, and he comes into it following a battling victory in Portrush just nine days ago. That saw him take his career tally to 41 race wins, 37 of which have come in the point-to-point fields, and he can add to that here. Carnfunnock was unable to match his 2025 effort when he only finished tenth in the Cheltenham Festival Hunter Chase last month. However, he is a two-time winner this season, and has got within a length of Winged Leader in the past, whilst Montecam is a brother of the great Altior, who runs in the colours of former Premier League footballer Kevin Doyle.

A couple of these also have options on Saturday?s card, but if BALLYPOLLARD was to take up this engagement, he could certainly be worth following. He looked like an above-average older maiden winner when making the perfect start to his career at Kirkistown. Landowner Wilson Dennison has been responsible for two of the last three winners of this contest, and his Mackieshill comes into this seeking a hat-trick, whilst Largy Leader is likely better than his Portrush effort, which came off the back of a fall.

BALLYKELLY did disappoint in this race 12 months ago, but he could be worth taking another chance on here in an open-looking race, as there were plenty of more positives to take out of his latest effort in Portrush. Josies Dylan ran his best race for some time when finishing second at Ballycrystal last month, which would certainly bring him into the equation, whilst the long-absent Chateau Elan has plenty of previous placed form to draw upon.

Preview

ANNS GETAWAY is very unexposed for this grade, having only made her point-to-point debut at Kirkistown recently, where she offered plenty of promise by finishing a close third behind younger rivals. This would look like a very nice opportunity for her. Leading Rose has long been knocking on the door, and if bouncing back from a rare below-par effort in testing conditions at Ballygogue House, she would look the main danger, ahead of Glenmalure Flyer and An Puca Liath.
